This certificate program is designed to prepare a student for an entry-level professional position as a skilled dental assistant. The general education requirements are designed to encourage students to develop computation and communication skills. Additional courses are designed to enhance the employment ability of the student by developing basic bookkeeping skills, interpersonal communications skills, and basic computer skills required in a dental assistant/receptionist environment.
