Technical and acting options available
The CWC Theater Department invites you to become part of a two-year program that gives first and second-year students practical experience on stage or in the scene and costume shops, or both.
You may select one of three options in general theater, or emphasize in technical theater or acting.
If you are looking for a friendly, student-centered, nurturing program, consider CWC. Our three annual major productions, which includes a musical, provide ample opportunities to perform and to work in technical capacities. Students also direct and act in the annual Student Showcase.
The department stresses that it is not a professional training school; it does, however, provide experiences in many areas of production and prepares students for upper level undergraduate, professional or apprenticeship training.
In addition to the core curriculum, students have the opportunity to take special topics theater courses such as scene painting and directing. Our students are also encouraged to take advantage of the excellent music, art, communication, and radio and television courses, which CWC offers. For those who are interested in musical theatre, our Music Department offers top-notch, individualized vocal training.
The CWC theater program is fully-transferable to four-year schools. We offer a variety of financial aid opportunities, including many theatre scholarships. Get a part-time job working backstage and earn as you learn.
