Rustlers improve conference records to 6-2
Riverton, WY - The CWC women's volley all team defeated Eastern Wyoming College in a three game sweep Saturday 25-14, 25-18, 25-21.
Flavia Araujo once again led the Lady Rustlers in kills. The freshman from Para, Brazil had 14 kills while Pernambuco, Brazil sophomore Ana Tenorio had 13 kills and four blocks. Gillette freshman Jess Foy led the team again in digs with 24 and Evanston sophomore Abigail Ehlers led in assists with 20.
“The Ladies really came out and competed today. We were able to set the tone early and not let up. This was really good because after winning last night we could have come into this game with a little bit of over confidence, but we sure didn’t let that happen. I’m very happy with the way we played today and we need to carry that into our games next week,” Coach Tiffany Stauffenberg said.
The Lady Rustlers will now prepare to take on Northwest College Wednesday, Oct. 10 at home. The game is set for 7:00 pm. This will be the second match between these two teams. CWC won the first meeting in a tough five game match: 25–22, 16–25, 24 26, 27–25 and 15–7.
