Lady Rustlers Now Ranked 13th in the Country
Colorado Springs, CO – The Central Wyoming College women’s volleyball team with its 15–4 overall record is now ranked by the National Junior College Athletic Association as 13th in the country. This is the highest the Lady Rustler Volleyball program has ever been ranked.
“This is a very nice accomplishment for our program and where we are. Considering six years ago we just re-introduced the program. The Ladies have worked hard; however, polls are one thing, and we want to be the last team standing at the end of the day. It's nice for the ladies and for those who have worked so hard for this program to have it where it is at this point in time,” Coach Tiffany Stauffenberg said.
San Jacinto College–Central is ranked first in the nation. The four opponents that CWC has lost to this season are Western Nebraska Community College ranked second, College of Southern Idaho ranked third, North Idaho College ranked fourth and Salt Lake Community College ranked sixth. Arizona Western College who lost to CWC, is ranked ahead of them at 12th, while next week’s opponent Western Wyoming Community College is ranked 15th and tomorrow’s opponent is in the receiving votes category.
The Lady Rustlers will be on the road tomorrow to put their ranking to the test at Casper College. Game time is 7 p.m.
