NJCAA names Leticia Guimaraes player of week

 

Colorado Springs, CO - (September 28, 2011) Lady Rustler sophomore Leticia Guimaraes of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil has been named the NJCAA Division 1 Volleyball Player of the Week for games September 19 – 25, 2011. TheNJCAA made the announcement today through its national office.

 

Guimaraes posted two double doubles with 21 kills and 13 digs against University of Great Falls and 20 kills and 12 digs vs. Rocky Mountain College.  Guimaraes accuracy was a .512 hitting percentage for the week.  On the Defensive side of the net, Leticia totaled nine blocks and 38 digs in four matches.

 

“Leticia is one of the best players in the conference and region. It’s very satisfying to see her and our program get this recognition,” Coach Tiffany Stauffenberg said.

 

Leticia and her teammates look forward to taking on nationally ranked # 4 Western Wyoming Community College Friday, Sept. 30 in Rock Springs at 7 p.m.
