Lady Rustlers post victory over Lady Bucs

 

Riverton, WY (February 23) – The Central Wyoming College women’s basketball team defeated Dawson Community College 58-43 on sophomore night.  With the win the Lady Rustlers record  improves to 12–15 overall and 5–10 in conference play.

 

The Lady Rustlers took a 30-23 lead at halftime and never looked back.  Five CWC girls played their last home game in Rustler Gymnasium.  Brynlie Nielsen, Spanish Fork, UT, Brynn Foster, Nibley, UT Courtney Patterson of Rock Springs, Randi Prosenick of Wright, and Sydney, Australian native Jacki Nicholson all suited up for the last time and were honored in front of an appreciative crowd.

 

Patterson led the Lady Rustlers with 19 point,.  Nielsen had 13 and Foster had 10.  Preston, ID freshman Elise Keller led the team in rebounding with 12.

 

“What a great way to end our home game season with a great effort by our Ladies.  They played hard and executed the game plan very well.  I can’t say enough about our effort.  We need to build on this as we head on to play in the Region IX tournament soon,”  Coach Serol Stauffenberg commented. 

Next game is Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 5:30 p.m. against Little Big Horn College.
