Rustlers drop one to Lady Pronghorns
Riverton, WY (January 18) – The Central Wyoming College Women’s Basketball
Team were defeated tonight by Gillette College, 66-62. A close game throughout, the Lady Pronghorns were able to hold on for the victory. With the defeat the Lady Rustlers record now stands at 7–9 on the year and 0–6 in conference play.
Australian sophomore Jacki Nicholson led the Rustlers with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the night. Rock Springs sophomore Courtney Patterson had 16 points and Spanish Fork, UT sophomore Brynlie Nielsen had 10 points to help the Lady Rustlers cause tonight.
“I can’t fault the ladies effort tonight. We just could not get a break when we needed it tonight. It’s going to happen. They are working hard and doing what is asked of them,” Coach Serol Stauffenberg said.
The Lady Rustlers travel to Glendive, MT to take on the Lady Buccaneers of Dawson Community College. Dawson Community College has an overall record of 2–8 on the year and 1–3 in conference play. The game can be seen live over the interned on Dawson Community College’s web site. Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
