Lady Rustlers lose thrilling game in Sheridan


Sheridan, WY (January 11) – The Central Wyoming College women’s basketball team lost a very close contest to the Lady Generals of Sheridan College 72-65.  With the loss the Lady Rustlers drop to 7–7 on the year and 0–4 in conference play.


Rock Springs sophomore Courtney Patterson led the Lady Rustlers with 15 points. Spanish Fork, UT sophomore Brynlie Nielson had 14 points to go with a team leading six rebounds. Mountain View freshman Emily Smith scored 12 points for the Lady Rustlers in the post.


“You have to give Sheridan College credit tonight. They finished the game. We made one too many mistakes at the end of the game to pull it off. Our Ladies battled tonight. We just were not able to pull it off. We will look forward to the rematch at our place,” Coach Serol Stauffenberg concluded.
