Coach StauffenbergHead Coach Serol Stauffenberg

Serol Stauffenberg enters his seventh year at the helm of the women's basketball program.  He enters his twenty-second year of coaching overall.

Stauffenberg likes his teams to be known "as tough defenders."  He consistently has one of the toughest defensive teams in Region 9.  His teams compete well in Region 9 and have played in two Region 9 semifinals.

He also wants his teams to know the importance of an education.  The 2012-13 Rustlers were named the "Academic Team of the Year" by the national office for its efforts in the classrom.  All of Stauffenberg's teams have qualified for the annual award, but this was the first time they've held the highest GPA in the nation.  In addition, the program has produced many individual academic award winners.

He is also an instructor at the college.  He has served many roles in his time at Central Wyoming College including Head Volleyball Coach, Assistant Volleyball Coach, Director of Athletics, Admissions Recruiter, and Interim Director of Admissions.

Stauffenberg coached at Dickinson State University (ND).  He was the head coach for two years and recruited two Miss Basketball candidates to the Dickinson State program.  After leaving DSU, his recruits went on to play in the Elite 8 of the NAIA national tournament.  One of his recruits was tabbed as an All-American.

He also coached at the high school level in Richardton, ND and Thermopolis, WY, guiding them to five state championship games, winning two.  He was named district and region coach of the year numerous times and was named Wyoming 3A coach of the Year twice.

Serol is married to Tiffany Stauffenberg, head CWC volleyball coach, and has two children - Demi, 11, and Brenon, 9.

Erika Yarber - Assistant Coach

Erika Yarber (formally Warren) is a graduate of Riverton High School.  After high school she attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling Colorado and Black Hills State University in Spearfish South Dakota on basketball scholarships

Sports have always been her passion, especially basketball.  This is her eighth year of coaching basketball; however, her second at the collegiate level.  She loves every aspect of the game, but the relationships built are undeniably her favorite part.  "I couldn't be more excited and honored to be part of such a wonderful program as I am here at CWC.  The support from my family, friends and community has been incredible to say the least."

She has been married to her husband Derrick for eight years and they have two beautiful little girls together.  Dakayda will be seven in January and Dakstyn just will turn two in October.  When she is not in the gym you can bet she is with her family snowmobiling, fishing, camping or four wheeling.
