(Sheridan, Wyo.) The Lady Rustlers increase their season record to 8-3 following a strong showing at the Sheridan College tournament last weekend. "The first day of the tournament we were a little

out of sync, even during the win against Rocky Mountain College. The second day we corrected
things quickly and played very well on Saturday," said Head Coach Tiffany Stauffenberg.
During the two day tournament, the Rustlers had four close matches, but dropped their opener
against Williston State College with scores of 17-25, 26-24, 16-25, and 24-26. Outside hitter
Kalynn Dahlke led the Rustlers with 13 kills followed closely by Tavia Young with 11. Setters
Jordan Leyba and Shay Schwab added 20 and 17 assists respectively.

The Rustlers quickly rebounded to defeat their next 3 opponents in straight sets; Rocky
Mountain College (25-16, 25-14, 25-18), Utah State University – Eastern Utah (25-13, 25-14,
25-14), and Lake Region State College (25-14, 25-18, 25-9). Tavia Young and McKensie Herold
logged an amazing 45 and 40 digs respectively in the three matches.

Next up for the Rustlers, on September 11, 12, and 13 is Central Arizona College and Mesa
Community College at the Scottsdale Community College Tournament. "We will be playing
without two of our right side hitters in this tournament so it will give other players a chance to
prove themselves. We play some tough teams, a few of them ranked nationally, and in order
for us to get in the rankings, we need to win. It's always a tournament that challenges us," said
Stauffenberg.
