Rustlers defeat Rams for another conference win
Riverton, WY (January 28) - The Central Wyoming College men’s basketball team defeated Little Big Horn College tonight, 87-44. The Rustlers are now one game out of first place in conference play. With the win the Rustlers record stands at 16–4 for the year and 5–3 in conference play.
The Rustlers had six student athletes in double figures. Freshman Malachi Roberts led the team with 14 points. The Las Vegas, NV duo of guards, Davion Pearson and Ali Sabra, had 12 points each. Springville, UT sophomore Preston Eaton had 12 points, so did North Hills, CA sophomore James “Deuce” Johnson to go along with his team leading eight rebounds. Rockford, IL freshman Armani Flannigan had 10 points and seven rebounds.
“I thought we did a good job tonight of playing defense. We held them to 26% shooting tonight, out rebounded them forced 27 turnovers. We need to build on this and get ready now for the second round of conference play,” said Coach Curtis Condie.
