Rustlers defeat Miles City on conference play
Riverton, WY (Jan. 14) – The Central Wyoming College men’s basketball team defeated Miles City Community College 76-68. With the win the Rustlers move to 12-4 on the year and 2–3 in conference play.
The Rustlers had five players in double figures. Las Vegas, NV sophomore Ali Sabra with 18 points and North Hills, CA sophomore James “Deuce” Johnson had 15 points and led the team with seven rebounds. Rockford, IL freshman Armani Flannigan had 11 points, red-shirt freshman Malachi Roberts had 11 points as well and Las Vegas, NV freshman Davion Pearson had 10 points.
“I thought we came out a little slow in at the start. Then we were able to pick up the pace and kick start our game. We did a good at attacking their zone in the first half because we didn’t see it in the second half. We had good energy for about three quarters of the game. We found a way to finish the game off and it is so nice to get the win,” Coach Curtis Condie said.
The Rustlers will now take on conference leading Gillette College on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 pm. The game can be seen live locally on Channel 5 and on the internet at www.cwc.edu. The game can be heard live on FM 88.1.
