Women open season with big win
Riverton, WY (Nov. 11) – The Central Wyoming College Women’s Basketball Team open up the first game of the season with a 108 to 18 win over Aaniiih Nakota College during the opening night of the Bailey Tire Tip Off Classic.
The Lady Rustlers had a very balanced scoring night with four players in double figures. Leading the way was Rock Springs, Wyo., sophomore Courtney Patterson with 20 points. Crow Agency, Mont., freshman Marissa Hogan added 16 points, Spanish Fork, Utah sophomore Brynile Nielsen had 13 points and the other Lady Rustler in double figures was Rock Springs, Wyo.,freshman Porsha Wadsworth.
“We had a good effort tonight," said Coach Serol Stauffenberg. "It was nice to go up against someone other than ourselves. I thought the ladies played hard and together. We still have things to work on, but it was a very good effort for our first game of the season.”
The Lady Rustlers take on Stone Child College in the second day of the Bailey Tire Tip Off Classic. Stone Child College lost tonight to Western Wyoming Community College tonight by a score of 90 to 39. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
