Auditions for Shakespeare comedy Sept. 4

Central Wyoming College’s theater department begins preparation for the 2013-14 season by auditioning actors for a Shakespeare comedy on September 4.

Director Mike Myers is holding auditions for “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage of the Robert A. Peck Arts Center.

There are roles for 12 men, eight women and eight children. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script, which can be checked out from Myers. He said while “The Merry Wives of Windsor” is not well-known, he said the play is Shakespeare’s funniest and features some of his most popular characters.

CWC stages the comedy Nov. 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m., and a 2:30 p.m. matinee is set for Nov. 3
For more information, contact Myers at 855-2217 or mmyers@cwc.edu.
