Theater department auditions for rock musical

Auditions for Central Wyoming College Theater Department’s production of the rock musical Hair are scheduled for January 22 and 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert A. Peck Art Center Theatre.

Billed as “The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical,” Hair made history as the first rock music-based musical to hit Broadway in the 1960s. CWC stages the musical April 12-14 and April 19-21.

Auditions on Jan. 22 are devoted to singing. Director Mike Myers asks those auditioning to be prepared to sing a rock song. An accompanist will be provided.

Acting auditions are set for Jan. 23 and actors will be asked to read from the script. The books and lyrics are by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and the music is by Galt MacDermot.
