Admission Points System
The Nursing Admission Committee selects applicants in March of each year using the following criteria and point scoring system. Applicants are rank ordered according to their total points. An alternate list is maintained for each cohort in the event an applicant declines acceptance.
1. Minimum grade point average of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale). GPA will be calculated using only courses required for an associate of applied science degree in nursing at Central Wyoming College, and completed with a grade of C or higher. GPA is not rounded for point determination.

2. Total number of credits earned toward the 29 general education and support course credits required for an associate of applied science degree in nursing at CWC. Courses enrolled in during the admission screening process in the spring semester will not be considered for point awards.

3. Successful completion of Human Anatomy and/or Human Physiology.

4. Six points will be awarded to recent high school graduates who have been out of high school for less than one year, and to current high school seniors with an ACT composite score of 25 or higher and with fewer than five college credits completed. This excludes applicants who have been out of high school for more than one year.
5. Three points will be awarded to licensed practical nurses (LPN's) with an active Wyoming PN license who wish to be considered for admission in the first semester of the program.
