Dental Assistant

This certificate program is designed to prepare a student for an entry-level professional position as a skilled dental assistant. The general education requirements are designed to encourage students to develop computation and communication skills. Additional courses are designed to enhance the employment ability of the student by developing basic bookkeeping skills, interpersonal communications sills, and basic computer skills required in a dental assistant/receptionist environment. To be a successful employee in the dental assistant profession, a person must have a customer friendly and service orientation, the ability to respect confidentiality, possess eye/hand coordination and dexterity skills, and enjoy working in a team environment. An individual choosing this profession must display a positive attitude and be dependable. This certificate prepares the student for the Certified Dental Assistant National exam.
