Business Administration

    Businesses need individuals who understand the fundamentals of business practice and who can compete effectively in an increasingly sophisticated, complex world. The goal of the Associate of Science in Business Administration degree program is to be the first step in preparing students for a bachelor’s degree in general business administration.  This transfer program also enhances skills and competencies in current jobs and assists in career advancement opportunities. In addition to the general education requirements which offer students a broad base of knowledge in English, communication, political science, and others, students have an opportunity to explore other related disciplines including accounting, economics, management, marketing, statistics, and math.

Business Management

    In demand today are supervisors, managers, and employees who are competent in their field of expertise and who need to contribute to, as well as lead, the activity of the team. Employers look for doers - leaders with the skills to resolve conflicts and manage diversity, encourage open communication and increase productivity and morale.

    The goal of the Business Management program is to provide practical skills students need to be successful in current or future business activities. This applied program includes a set of core courses that address the critical aspects of effective supervision and management.  The comprehensive curriculum includes general business, accounting, business law, management, economics, decision making and marketing.  In addition, general education courses offer students a broad base of knowledge in English, communication, computers and math.   

Accounting Programs

    CWC’s accounting programs have diverse goals: to train students for a job in accounting, to further their careers in their current job, or to prepare for advance studies in accounting.  Today’s students need more than just basic accounting skills; students need to feel comfortable with rapidly changing technology, understand how to make sound ethical and business decisions, and become successful problem solvers and communicators.  CWC’s accounting programs are designed to meet these needs.

Accounting – AS Degree

    The Associate of Science in Accounting is designed as the first step in preparing the student for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.  The accounting profession covers a fairly broad range of jobs.  The accountant may design and manage the entire accounting system for an organization.  The accountant may also prepare financial statements, tax returns, or perform audits.  These jobs can be found in both the private, public and governmental not-for-profit sectors.


Accounting – AAS Degree

    This program is designed to prepare the student for careers in the fields of business, public and governmental not-for-profit accounting or further their careers in their current job.  In demand today are full-charge bookkeepers, accounting clerks, and staff accountants.


Accounting – Bookkeeping Certificate

    This certificate program is designed to prepare the students for careers as accounting clerks or bookkeepers.  Bookkeeping involves the systematic recording of business transactions in financial terms.
