Associate of Arts
General Studies is a college transfer program for students who wish to combine coursework in several areas of interest.
Students may include a variety of courses or may concentrate on an area or areas of interest. Specific classes are then selected by students in consultation with their faculty advisor. Students should meet regularly with their advisors to help ensure satisfactory academic progress. Changes in program curriculum require prior advisor or Dean approval.
A student meeting the requirements for a degree with an area of emphasis in General Studies and in another area can receive simultaneous degrees if there is a 12 credit difference from CWC between the degrees. If a student is receiving one degree in a specific program and would like to receive an additional degree, there must be a 12 credit difference between programs from CWC.
Transfer Information
CWC has an articulation agreement with the University of Wyoming for transfer. Students who transfer to UW with the Associate of Science (AS) degree and have a minimum of two three (3) credit college level math courses will be deemed to have met UW’s lower division general education requirements.
Students planning to transfer to another four-year college or university are advised to obtain a catalog from the institution to which they wish to transfer. Using Central Wyoming College’s catalog, along with the four-year institution’s catalog and advisement information, the student will be able to make appropriate decisions for maximum transferability of his or her courses.
