Advisory committee members may be involved in some of the following activities depending on interest and/or expertise:• Increase community awareness of the college’s educational programs
• Establish awards programs to recognize outstanding students, faculty, and community supporters
• Help identify funding to support and/or promote programs
• Participate in college events
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing initiatives
• Assist in soliciting scholarship applicants
• Participate in the development of scholarship support for students
• Provide tours and field trip experiences
• Provide speakers
The input from advisory committees helps to:
• Update and improve the quality of programs
• Support and strengthen relationship between the college and the community
• Identify needs and priorities in the program
• Articulate short- and long-term college goals and objectives to community members, employers, and prospective students.
