Delivery Methods

Introductory materials for distance delivered courses are usually mailed to students the week before classes begin. Students registering during the week before classes begin may experience a delay in receiving introductory materials.  If you do not receive introductory materials, please contact the Distance Education Office 1-800-735-8418 ext. 2124 or 307-855-2124 or by emailing distanceedinfo@cwc.edu. Please allow one week for materials being mailed. To avoid delays in receiving materials, please register early for distance delivered course and provide a current address to the Records and Research Office.

Interactive Classroom Network (ICN) - The Interactive Classroom Network is a distance delivery system which allows real time interaction between instructor and students located off campus. The Interactive Classroom Network serves students in certain areas within CWC’s service area. Students interested in this mode of delivery need to confirm an interactive classroom in their area.
IMPORTANT
Enrolling in a course being recorded or transmitted over the Interactive Classroom Network indicates your consent to be seen by others via the recording or at the remote site.

Internet-based Instruction – Students are required to have access to computer equipment and the internet. Some courses also require specific software. Skills in word processing, email and internet use are necessary for success.  Computer and internet access are available on campus and at selected outreach centers for enrolled students.
Computer-assisted Instruction - Computer-assisted instruction courses are delivered via CD-ROM.  Students are required to have access to computer equipment.  Some courses also require specific software.  Skill in word processing is necessary for success. Computer equipment is available on campus and at selected outreach centers for enrolled students.
 
Lecture Capture – Selected courses may be recorded and made available for replay over the internet. Check with instructor for details and availability.  
Channel 5 Rustler TV - (Riverton & Lander Only) Selected courses may also be available through cable TV on Channel 5.  The schedule can be found on at this link:

Video Courses – Video courses are recorded lectures. Students living in the Riverton and Lander areas can check out the DVDs at the CWC Lander Office and CWC Main Campus library.  DVDs can also be viewed at the CWC campus library and on-line through the Learning Management System. Those students who do not live near CWC or one of the listed video outlets, should contact the Distance Education Office for information on further options at 1-800-735-8418 extension 2124 or (307) 855-2124.


Telecourses - Telecourses are aired on Wyoming PBS and Rustler TV two times every week. For students outside the Wyoming PBS and Rustler TV broadcast area, DVDs of the Telecourse broadcasts can be leased from ACT Media by contacting them www.actmedia.org/index.do Telecourse videos can also be viewed or checked out at the CWC Riverton campus library or the CWC Lander Office in Lander with a CWC student ID card or accessed on-line through the Learning Management System.  

Mixed Media - Mixed media courses use a combination of the above.  The mixture of delivery methods will vary depending on the course.

Cost – Students enrolled for credit courses pay tuition and fees according to established campus procedures plus a $15 per credit Distance Delivery course fee.
