Disabilities Evaluation & Support

 

CWC provides a variety of services for students with disabilities. The Disabilities Resource Center is located in room 123F of Main Hall. The campus is physically accessible and has special parking near building entrances for student convenience. Some of the services and accommodations are:

  • Extra time for tests
  • Special test taking accommodations
  • Tutoring and mentoring
  • Diagnostic testing, evaluation and follow-up educational plans and advocacy
  • Special seating arrangements

Equipment available for diagnosed students includes:

  • Magnifying computer monitor screens
  • Kurzweil reader program
  • Ergonomic keyboards
  • Cassette recorders
  • Voice activated software for writing
  • Books on Tape for reading and visually impaired

Accommodations: Request for special accommodations for classes must be submitted in writing along with supporting documents to the Disabilities Resource Coordinator prior to the beginning of the semester. A CWC Disability Assistance Officer must verify the documentation and approve the request before any reasonable accommodations can be made based on special needs.
