ACT WORKSHOP
Central Wyoming College's Gear Up will make sure you are ready by offering an ACT Math Prep Workshop FREE to high school juniors and seniors. The workshop will provide:
- a list of the 14 most important mathematical concepts or formulas that appear over and over on the test
- ten test taking strategies which can be used to take the test
- five samples tests with solutions
- key ideas to becoming a better problem solver
- hints to know when to use or not use a hand-held calculator
- information about test scores and what they mean to the college-bound student

ACT MATH PREP POD CASTS AVAILABLE
GEAR UP has produced a series of video podcasts to assist high school juniors and seniors in preparing for the ACT Math Exam. The videos can be accessed by clicking here or by clicking on the ACT Math Preparation link on the left-hand side of this page.
The series is written and presented by Roger Melton, GEAR UP Math Specialist and Professor Emeritus at CWC. Using examples from previous ACT exams, Roger presents an in-depth discussion on test-taking strategies, scoring the ACT, and step-by-step solutions to commonly occurring ACT math problems.
Students will benefit from this format because they can access the videos at their convenience and view the videos as often as they need. In addition to the video podcasts, PDF handouts to accompany each podcast are available to print. Using the handouts, students can follow along as Roger explains each problem solution.
