CWC Foundation Quality Leader Activity Scholarship

Amount: $2,500

Requirements for initial consideration and renewal:
  1. Must complete on-line Scholarship Application for consideration 
  2. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 as shown on an official transcript(s) of high school or any previous college course work;
  3. Resume which outlines a) the applicant’s involvement in school and community activities, and b) evidence of leadership roles assumed by the applicant in such activities.
  4. Commitment to participation in a broad range of campus activities for at least 30 hours per semester.
  5. Interview with Admissions/Scholarship Committee. Please contact Admissions at 307-855-2119 to schedule an appointment. (Interviews may be conducted over the phone if it is a hardship for the student to come to campus.)
Renewal Requirements:
  1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a minimum of 12 hours earned each semester;
  2. Participation in a broad range of campus activities and demonstrated leadership in such activities;
  3. The student must maintain a log which indicates the types of service activities and time spent in those activities in which he/she has been involved (the supervisor of the activity to initial each entry);
  4. Meet at least twice a month with the Quality Leader Sponsor to review leadership activities, plan future activities with fellow Quality Leaders, and discuss leadership materials;
  5. Second semester portion is awarded automatically, provided grade average requirement is met and sufficient evidence of campus leadership is demonstrated. Students must earn a minimum of 12 credit hours and a minimum of 30 hours of service activities each semester;
  6. Although there is no guarantee, first year recipients will receive priority consideration for a second year scholarship provided he/she meets the grade average requirement, demonstrates campus leadership as evidenced by service hours, reapplies by the published application deadline and has the recommendation of the Quality Leader Sponsor. Renewal applications must include: a) completed Scholarship Application, b) an official transcript of college course work completed since the scholarship was first awarded, c) a written personal statement of anticipated contributions to CWC, and d) a resume of the applicant’s activities which indicates the leadership roles assumed by the applicant since being selected to receive the Quality Leader Scholarship;
  7. Second year Quality Leader Scholarship recipients are required to serve as student advisors to first year Quality Leader recipients;
  8. Award is limited to a maximum of four semesters.
Notes:

The Quality Leader Scholarship is awarded to students who show special promise to be leaders in the classroom and in campus activities. Quality Leaders are a highly visible group on campus who act as ambassadors for the college and participate in such act

CWC Outreach Scholarships

  4. Applicants must submit a 500-1000 word essay for consideration.  If applicant is chosen as a finalist, he or she will deliver an oral presentation.

  2. Achieve a 3.0 (B) in all Fine Arts courses.
  3. Enroll in at least one three-credit Fine Arts on-campus course per semester/six credits an academic year.
  4. Participate in Great Art Group (must attend all meetings; three unexcused absences allowed from meetings/events each semester)
  5. Must attend 75 percent of Art Department events. At the beginning of each semester, a calendar of events will be provided. Students are responsible for getting Art Department faculty signatures at each event and turning in cards at end of semester.
  6. Art Department faculty review students at the end of fall semester for spring scholarships. Student found not adhering to the maintenance requirements will have scholarship reduced or cancelled.

Wind River Tribes Educational Endowment Fund Scholarship

Requirements for initial consideration and renewal:
  1. Must be a full-time student (minimum of 12 credits) enrolled in an associate degree program
  2. Have a cumulative high school or college GPA of at least 2.5/A=4.0
  3. Be willing to devote 10 hours per semester in a community service activity of own choice and approved by the CWC Native American Scholarship Committee
  4. Can demonstrate an association with or other relationship to either the Shoshone or Arapaho Tribe
  5. Must agree in writing to repay the scholarship if a degree is not attained within three years or if the student is not able to meet standards of progress which are outlined below. If standards of progress are not met or if the community service activity is not accomplished by the end of the semester, the student will be placed on probation for the subsequent semester and the bonus shall be withheld pending correction of the deficiency during the probationary period. No interest will be charged, should the student be liable for repayment.
Renewal Requirements:
  1. Must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA
  2. Must have successfully fulfilled the community service requirement during the previous semester
  3. At the discretion of CWC Native American Scholarship Committee, students failing to meet renewal requirements may be placed on probation for one semester, in which case, scholarship aid shall pay for tuition only.
Wyoming National Guard Scholarship

Requirements for initial consideration:

This Fund shall be used to provide educational assistance to current active Wyoming National Guard members enrolled as credit students at CWC under the following conditions:

  1. The annual distribution will be administered by the CWC Office of Financial Aid, who is authorized to divide it appropriately among eligible applicants to pay for educational expenses which may include tuition, books, fees, etc.
  2. Applicants must complete the appropriate forms available from the Financial Aid Office
