2006 marked the first year of volleyball at Central Wyoming College since 1991. With ten freshman and two sophomores, the Rustlers managed to post an impressive 28-14 record in their first year of existence.
They placed second in the Region IX North regular season and paced third in the Region IX North tournament. The team was tabbed as a “Team of the Year” by the NJCAA based on their 3.53 gpa. Four Rustlers were named to the all-conference team: Katie St. John, Andee Uffelman, Nane Hokafonu, and Nicole Sorensen. Three were named to the all-region team: Katie St. John, Nane Hokafonu, and Nicole Sorensen. Three were also named to the all-tournament team: Katie St. John, Darby Thomas, and Troi Larsen.
When awards are handed out in June by the NJCAA the Rustlers will gather three Academic All-American awards.
