Brittany Barlow
Brittany Barlow is a first-year general
studies major who is interested in art. Brittany
is a Quality Leader at CWC and works in the CWC Admissions Office. She is an
asset in group work activities and scores well on tests and papers, said
Communications Professor Jane Warren. Following graduation in the spring of
2009, Brittany
plans to transfer to a university to complete her studies. She was recently inducted into the CWC chapter of the international honorary Phi Theta Kappa.

Curt Galitz
Curt Galitz is a first-year student majoring
in business administration. He is a CWC Quality Leader, an honor given to a
select few who receive one of CWC's best scholarships and also a Hathaway and
Honors scholarship. Recently elected to the CWC Student Senate as its vice
president, he hopes to eventually serve as president. He is a resident
assistant in Mote Hall and a tutor. His goal is to pursue a career as a real
estate broker. His first semester grades earned him a spot on the Dean's Honor
Roll. He was recently inducted into Phi Theta Kappa.

LeAnn Plymale
LeAnn is a second-year student from Townsend, Mont., who has been studying both business administration and secondary education. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and a Quality Leader. She works as a Resident Assistant and is a 4.0 GPA student.

Matt Huxtable
Matt Huxtable is utilizing his background obtained during
his four years with the U.S. Marine Corps and has begun a course of study in
CWC's new program in Homeland Security. Matt did a stint in Iraq, and it
was his battalion who made international news when it tore down the statue of Saddam
Hussein.
Prior to being an infantryman in Iraq he was part of special
security forces. In addition to obtaining higher education, Matt is interested
in obtaining a pilot's license. He won the Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees' Student Leadership Award in 2008. He works at Huxtable Fabricators and goes to
school full time. He is a graduate of Shoshoni High School.

Amara Fehring
Though Amara Fehring is truly a first-year college student,
she says she's a "freshmore" because she earned 29 college credits while a high
school student at Wind River. Amara, a theater
major, has also been in a number of college productions as a high school
student, including the musical "Two By Two," "Shooting Stars" and "Steel
Magnolias." This year, she played the roll of "Belle" in the CWC production of "Beauty and the Beast," and she is directing a one-act play in the 2008 Student Theater Showcase. She is a member of the CWC Student Senate. She is the recipient of Hathaway, music, theater
and honor scholarships and is in all the music performance groups, including
the touring vocal ensemble JAZZMAGIC and the Collegiate Chorale. She is also
interested in studying special education and graphic design.

Shawn Galitz
Shawn Galitz is a second-year pre-engineering major who comes
to CWC directly from Shoshoni
High School. Nominated
for Student of the Week by Chemistry Professor Suki Smaglik, Shawn earned a
perfect 4.0 grade point average during his first semester at CWC and was named
to the President’s Honor Roll. A recipient of honor scholarships, Shawn is also
a tutor in the Student
Success Center.
In his spare time, Shawn participates in intramural sports and plays on a city
league basketball team.

Sarah Phister
Sarah Phister is a first-year pre-health major from Riverton
who eventually plans to become a physical therapist. She is a recipient of the
Quality Leader Scholarship at CWC and participates in community service
projects on the campus and in the community. Communications Professor Jane
Warren said Sarah "is delightful to have in a class with a personality that
just fits for an interpersonal communication class." In addition to her QL
award, Sarah has also earned CWC Honors and Hathaway scholarships. She plans to
graduate from CWC in 2009 and is likely to transfer to the University of Wyoming.

Sterling Hall
"It is a pleasure to
have Shay Petty in class, as he engages in his music classes with a passion to
learn," said CWC Director of Bands Steve Traylor. "His goal is to be the best well-rounded music educator possible." Shay, a Quality Leader Scholarship recipient, was in the cast of "Beauty and the Beast" and is a saxophone player with CWC's jazz ensemble, "The Jazz Messengers." A honor roll student, Petty, who is from Green River" has a solid work ethic and impeccable people skills. His professor predicts that Shay will not only succeed, but
also be a future leader among Wyoming music educators.
