The Office for Workforce and Community Education is an important and integral part of the Central Wyoming College concept of “community college.” The office coordinates and offers courses, workshops, and other activities which respond to the interests and requests of citizens and organizations in the Central Wyoming College service area. Through such offerings, college services are made available to people in each community served by the college. CWC has outreach centers in Lander, Dubois, Thermopolis and Jackson.
Enrollment in distance education and community education classes is handled by local coordinators. Workforce development and customized training course information is available from the main campus, 855-2043, located in the Community Outreach Training Center, COTC 140. Credit and non-credit program course information is available from main campus or at outreach centers in Jackson, Lander, Thermopolis, Dubois and Riverton.
Workforce and community education classes are available to individuals who want to improve their academic or vocational skills or to develop new skills for advanced job opportunities. Services are available to distance students to help ensure their success.
Lynne McAuliffe is the Assistant Dean of Workforce and Community Education. She oversees the outreach areas and helps coordinate classes offered in each of the communities. She encourages the assistance of local residents in determining what programs and classes should be offered in each community. Suggestions and requests should be directed to your local coordinator or to the Riverton Office for Continuing Education, Central Wyoming College, 2660 Peck Avenue, Riverton, Wyoming 82501.
