Information Technology Office Support
Central Wyoming College delivers an Information Technology Office Support training program designed to train women to work in the traditionally male-dominated technology industry. The program recruits primarily from the Fremont County area.
In Fremont County the technology industry is a growth industry with long-term career opportunities.
Local companies with IT Support positions such as Wyoming.com, Pertech, and SITCO are all growing with expanding employment opportunities. Additionally, these students provide valuable skills to work in school districts, the community college, and other office settings requiring technology skills.
This program targets a small group of select women participants. We selectively recruit and assess female applicants for aptitude, attitude, interest, and compatibility to work in office and technology fields. We recruit women that meet the program eligibility requirements for TANF, through multiple channels such as; targeting existing students at the college that show an aptitude and interest in this career field, existing low level or part-time employees of partner companies that show an interest in developing into these career paths and increasing wages, and interested applicants referred to us by our local partners.
