Employment & Training for Self-Sufficiency (ETSS)

Central Wyoming College offers an Employment and Training for Self Sufficiency (ETSS) program through a grant funded by the State of Wyoming Department of Employment.

Schedule of Sessions

There will be three eight-week sessions held Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Students eligible for the program must meet the criteria for TANF (The Aid to Needy Families). Students will also be screened to meet minimum educational requirements, which include a 10th grade level on assessment tests. Screening is held in the ETSS Computer Lab located in the Pro Tech Building room PT-120.


Enrollment
Interested candidates should complete a pre-registration form at the Riverton and Lander Employment Centers. Interested candidates can also call the college at 855-2043 or 855-2206.


Course Incentives
Students enrolled in the program will be eligible to receive weekly incentives for attending the course. The incentives will be computed upon daily attendance and satisfactory completion of coursework and will be set by the course director. College credit will be given to students, and grades will be determined by instructors based on program performance. Tuition will be paid in full by the ETSS program. Participants taking the course may also qualify for Pell grants.

Course Preparation
Only 25 participants per session wil be eligible to participate in the Program. We would like the program to simulate the standards expected in the workplace; therefore, there will be strict expectations for attendance, timeliness and participation. Participants will be terminated from the program for unsatisfactory performance in any of these areas.

College Credit
Participants who are eligible may earn college credit in the following courses:

  • QSCS 1550-ETS3 Certified Customer Service Specialist (10 credits)
  • UNST 1000-ETS3 Orientation to College (3 credits)
  • INET 1550-ETS3 Introduction to Internet (1 credit)

Location
Classes are held in the Professional Technical Center on campus, Rooms 120 and 115.
