Facility Rules and Regulations
The following are regulations and procedures that shall be adhered by all that use the Sinks Canyon Center (SCC) facility.
Before you begin your event setup:
Check in with the Coordinator prior to commencing your event. Please call 307-332-3202 to arrange a time to meet the Coordinator at the SCC. This is important to assure your event is properly supported and so that you fully understand the regulations and procedures of the SCC.
- Please understand that you will be charged for all set-ups, strike, custodial and maintenance required returning the facilities to SCC standards, in addition to all damages to property incurred during your event. The cost to you will be greatly reduced by following these guidelines.
- Alcohol consumption is allowed only with prior approval of the CWC President. The sheriff’s department will be called to handle all intoxicated and/or disorderly people.
- Dogs must be leashed at all times except while on the mountain trails.
- Smoking is not allowed in any building and is only allowed around outdoor fire rings or designated ash trays. During drought conditions, smoking and/or campfires may be prohibited. Conditions will dictate this use.
- Food or beverages are not allowed in any building except Fremont Hall.
INDOORS
Caterers must follow the operations and cleaning procedures outlined in the Sinks Canyon Center’s procedures manual, which is located on the kitchen table.
- Bag all trash. DO NOT overfill trash cans. Extra bags can be found beneath the existing bag or from the SCC staff. Place trash bags at the end of the sidewalk/parking lot and the SCC will hall them off.
- Cleaning procedures are posted on the restroom, dining room and in the kitchen procedures manual. Leave no trace.
OUTDOORS
Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM. All event activities other than lodging must end by 10 PM. Access hours to and from the SCC property will also be limited during quiet hours except for emergencies. Excessive noise will not be tolerated.
- Parking is only allowed in paved parking areas or as designated by the SCC staff. Please contact the SCC staff for equipment to move heavy and bulky items to campsites. Provide parking attendant(s) for groups over 50. No parking along entrance road.
- Potable water is available at all faucets except behind the Fremont Hall building. Do not drink from any of the hoses. Water out of the irrigation ditches and river is not safe to drink.
- Respect the Private Property of SCC neighbors. All fences and gates are marked with no trespassing signs.
- Camp only in assigned camp site or cabin. Non designated areas may be dangerous due to irrigation, mowing, seasonal fire concerns, and so forth.
- Bag all trash. SCC will provide trash receptacles at Fremont Hall, the Cottonwoods restroom and the shower house. Trash bags can also be placed in the dumpster located just before the river bridge. Campers must make sure that the campsite area is policed before leaving. DO NOT overfill trash cans. Extra trash bags are available by request. Leave no trace/pick up grounds.
- Fires are allowed only in designated fire rings. Fires must be extinguished fully with water before leaving the fire pit area. Bring your own firewood or let the SCC staff show you where firewood is available. Please do not remove wood from any of the trees.
- Dish washing must be done at the Fremont Hall galley, commercial kitchen or Shower House outdoor sinks. Do not use soap near irrigation ditches or the Popo Agie River.
- Due to the fragile condition of many apple and cottonwood trees, balance line and hammocks are not permitted.
