General Program Information

The nursing program is designed to prepare graduates for careers as entry level registered nurses (RNs) in a variety of healthcare settings.  Upon successful completion, the graduate receives an associate of applied science degree in nursing.  The curriculum provides students the opportunity to develop nursing knowledge and skills through classroom instruction, practice skills laboratories, and clinical experiences.  The nursing program also utilizes standardized pre and post assessments to increase pass scores and lower program attrition rates.

LICENSURE:
CWC nursing graduates have a high success rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).  The average pass rate over the past 24 years is 94%.  The Wyoming State Board of Nursing determines eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN and is responsible for the oversight of nursing practice and education in the state of Wyoming. In accordance with the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, Title 33, Chapter 21, 33-21-146, the board may refuse to issue a license upon proof that the person is found guilty of a misdemeanor or felony; or who is unfit to practice nursing by reason of negligence, habits, or other causes.  All questions regarding licensure should be directed to the Wyoming State Board of Nursing.
