Associate of Applied Science | Credential
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Internet Web Development is designed for students who have minimal experience and knowledge of Web and PC computer technology.
The general education requirements are designed to encourage students to develop critical and creative thinking, computation, and communication skills. The core area of emphasis provides students with the prerequisite coursework that is required for students to successfully complete the degree.
Students must complete the general education, core areas of emphasis and program electives to complete the two-year degree. Students who choose to complete more than one option, will earn an Internet Web Development AAS degree in each option.
The Web Site Designer Option is targeted to those individuals who have a desire to obtain proficiency in creating professional Web sites with an emphasis on graphics, layout, and interactivity. Participants will use cutting edge Web page and graphic design tools to create Web sites that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Students who choose this option and are deficient in computer skills, theory, hardware, software/operating systems coursework may be required to take prerequisite coursework before enrolling in any Web development courses.
The Graphic Design Option is targeted to those individuals who have a desire to obtain proficiency in graphic design as it relates to both the Web and print media. Participants will use cutting edge Web page and graphic design tools and theory to create digital media and graphic layouts for both Web and print applications.
Students who choose this option and are deficient in computer skills, theory, hardware, software/operating systems coursework may be required to take prerequisite coursework before enrolling in any Web/Graphic development courses.
